THE CHANGE UP

I see so many movies with Jason Bateman and Leslie Mann.  Two extremely likable actors who pretty much play the same role in every movie they're in.  Which is fine because I enjoy every one I see.  Ryan Reynolds is a nice guy too and, the current "Sexiest Man Alive".  I've seen most of his movies as well except for, of course, "The Green Lantern".

Putting the three of them together sure seemed like a good idea and, I don't blame any one of them for how horrible "The Change Up" was.  Movies where characters change personalities or identities have been done with big time success.  Think "Big", "13 Going on 30", "17 Again",  "Freaky Friday" and, so many more.  These films appeal to both sexes of film goers so, many more will be made.  However, this one is the "bad apple" of the bunch.

We seem to flock to movies with some "gross out aspect".  I personally don't care to see bodily function situations flashed across the screen, but obviously there are those who do.  "The Change Up" took this to new heights.  We really don't need to see #2  actually coming out and, a more detailed look at #1.  Enough said.

I suppose it was in the direction that when Bateman and Reynolds' souls switched to each other's bodies we were left confused as to who was who.  And, about 30 minutes into the movie we didn't care.

Supporting characters did their best as well but, there will be no glowing additions to their resumes.  So before you see "The Change Up" you should consider changing pictures.
