OCTOBER BABY

Many people had recommended this movie so, as there was nothing else I wanted to see this past weekend I went to see it.  It was low budget and the only actors I had ever heard of were John Schneider and Jasmine Guy.  Loved them as Bo and Whitley, glad that they found work.

The acting was fair at best.  A story of a college student who found out she was adopted and her quest to find her birth mother could have been a compelling story but, in this day and age how many children reach adulthood before they find out they were adopted?  I suppose I should have found it refreshing that a group of college students would go on a long trip and the girls slept in one room and, the boys in another.  That the biggest trouble they got in to was getting their car stuck in the sand.  Maybe, I've seen too many movies like "Fast Times at Ridgemont High", "American Pie" and, zillions of others to actually believe that kids are this pure.  I know that some are and possibly why there are not more movies made about them.

There was supposed to be some kind of anti-abortion message but, I could not get past sheltering a child until adulthood about their adoption and, letting it out just because they had to.
