THE WOMAN IN BLACK

I am one of the few people on earth who has never seen a Harry Potter movie or read the books.   However, every one else in my house has so I am familiar with the franchise and the actors.  I was in the mood for a horror movie so I chose to see "The Woman in Black".

The best thing about this movie is that Daniel Radcliffe will have a career beyond child star.  He was quite believable as young father and, although he didn't have a lot to say, he proved he was a promising actor.

However,  the movie was just same old, same old.  First, how can you possibly have sympathy for someone who chooses to spend the night in a creepy old house in the middle of nowhere?  No one in their right mind is that brave.  Second, the dead child thing is completely over done.  Third, someone needs to come up with some horror that is not totally predictable.

I suppose Radcliffe and the rest of the cast did the best they could with this adapted screenplay.  I, for one, would like to see something like "The Shining", "The Sixth Sense" or "The Omen" again.
