When the AMERICAN PIE movie came out in 1999 it was hyped so much that I just had to see it even though the only actor I had ever heard of was Eugene Levy. What I got was some bright new stars, some disgusting stuff and so many laughs. We even rented it for our 15 year old to watch which may sound horrible to most but, it was a true coming of age movie that we felt he should see. When the sequels came out he was right there buying a ticket.
This franchise made stars, if only temporary, of so many of this cast as they were a totally believable HS clique. Sure the crudeness went a bit too far but, it worked and, you felt like these were real kids coming to grips with life and their sexuality.
AMERICAN REUNION like its predecessors can stand alone as a truly great movie escape for those who don't mind being shocked. And, as always, Eugene Levy stole the show.
